How to Check Remaining Data on Your Jextream Hotspot
What This Means: You may need to check your hotspot data usage when your internet connection starts running slower than usual. Hotspots often have a 30 GB, 5 GB data limit — once you use up your high-speed data, the connection speed drops significantly, making it harder to stream classes, upload assignments, or join video calls. By checking your data, students can confirm if they’ve hit that limit, better manage their usage, and avoid unexpected slowdowns during schoolwork.
Step 1.
- Important* Make sure your hotspot is plugged into your computer with a USB-C cable capable of transferring data (not just charging).

Step 2.
- On the hotspot device, go to Data Usage. There, you’ll see a website address displayed — usually something like:
http://mobile.hotspot
- Type that into your laptop’s web browser.

Step 3.
- The hotspot’s management portal should open.
- If it doesn’t open automatically, you’ll need to log in manually. Enter the default password:
admin123!
Step 4.
- Once logged in, look for a section labeled Data Usage, usually located on the home tab
- It should display your remaining data balance and possibly a breakdown of data used this billing cycle.

Step 5.
-
(Optional) If you want to keep track more easily, check if your hotspot portal lets you set data alerts (e.g., a warning when you’ve used 75% of your allowance).
⚠️ Tip: If the site doesn’t load, double-check that the cable is data-capable and that you’re not connected only over Wi-Fi. Some hotspots only allow the management page to load when directly connected via USB.
