What This Means:
Your hotspot is turned on, but you're not able to browse the internet, check email, or use apps.
Steps For Troubleshooting:
-
Check signal bars on the hotspot’s screen
- Look for a tiny signal icon on the screen (like the one on a cell phone).
- If you see 0 or 1 bars, your hotspot doesn’t have a strong signal.
What to do:
- Move the hotspot closer to a window or go to a higher spot (like upstairs).
- Avoid placing it near thick walls or metal objects.
-
Restart the hotspot
- Turn off the device by pressing and holding the power button (usually on the side or top).
- Wait 10 seconds, then press and hold the button again to turn it back on.
-
Check your data plan
- If you’ve used all your monthly data (students have 30GB a month), it may block internet access or slow it down.
- You can:
- Follow the steps in How To Check Your Hotspot Data
